Gymnastics, a competitive sport that tests an athlete's strength, rhythm, balance, flexibility, and agility. There are three major forms of competitive gymnastics: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, aerobics, acrobatics and trampoline. Unfortunately, aerobics and acrobatics are not recognised as official sports in the Singapore sports Council. All the following sport categories are open to both sexes, except rhythmic gymnastics (only for women). Artistic gymnastics consists of prescribed sets
of events, each of which is scored separately by judges to determine a
winner. Rhythmic gymnastics consists of several events in which
the gymnasts use objects such as balls and hoops while performing choreographed
routines, which are judged to determine a winner. And in trampoline
sports, trampoliners bounce on a trampoline, while performing somersaults,
twists, and other movements. They are judged on the movements they perform
while airborne.

Gymnasium | ||||||||||||||
|
The pride of the school, the gymnasium is perhaps one of the most elaborate features of the school. Equipped with parallel bars, vaulting horses, and strategically placed cushions and mats, the gymnasium is constantly used by the school gymnastics club for their practice and training. Indeed, it is so well-furnished, even inter-school gymnastics competitions are held there. Our world-class gymnasium is fully equipped for the benefit of the student population and our gymnastics team. |
Achievements | ||||||||||||||
|
Since the 4th year of our establishment in 1970s, our EP3 has always been among the top three in the Annual National Inter-School Gymnastics Championships. This year, our artistic gymnastics section produced fantastic results; we emerged champion in the "C" division and came in first runner-up in the "B" division. The trampoline section has obtained champion titles for both divisions.
