1st Asian School Gymnastics Championships (2002)

The 1st Asian Schools Gymnastics Championships will be held in Bangkok (Thailand) on 1 - 7 September 2002. MOE CCAB have yet to receive any material or invitation from host country Thailand. There will only be the Under-18 category.

There will be WAG (6 gymnasts), MAG (6 gymnasts) and RSG (3 plus 1 gymnasts) events. A final selection for the 6 boys and 6 girls (for MAG & WAG) and 3 plus 1 for RSG was held in mid August 2002 at the CCAB Gymnasium. These number will be subjected to the approval of Singapore Schools Sports Council (SSSC).

For the MAG team, a total of 6 male gymnasts were chosen to represent the nation in this grand event. They are: Davin Huang, Daniel Chia, How Wah Kiat, Hoe Wah Toon, Ling Han and Lei. Also the SSSC has announced TCHS coach Wang Yongfa to train the national men's team for the next few weeks before the actual championships in Thailand. He will also be leading the Combined School Team in the following year, so as to prepare for the coming SEA Games 2003.
